One Day Trip : Sri Gethuk Waterfall
the quote really suit this trip:
All journeys have destinations of which the traveler is unaware
Satuday, 21st of March, i offered my friend, my trip-friend, endahc a morning cycling around JEC. she agreed.
I woke up early, prepared the bike and went off. when i arrived there, she text me that her bike wasn't well. instead of just went home, i waited hoping her bike would be better. turns out she asked me to come along with her and her sisters, mbak nur and mbak isti, to go to Srigethuk. i of course agreed. even if i hadn't take a bath yet. and i didn't have a proper breakfast. and i brought no money.
i actually can just went back home, had a proper bath and breakfast but i just do as she said, cycled to her house. there i were told that she invited 2 other friends, melmel (sari), and sivta.
while we waited for those two, we were going around endahc's house, cycling. it was 7.30, more or less. sari came, after we (endahc and i) rushed her. well, kinda funny though. as always. then, as the sun shines brighter, we just went and picked up sivta. that was the first time i met sivta, since she's endah and sari' s school-mate.
then we started the ride! we rode with blackie (endah's family black Ru*h car), followed the direction to srigethuk waterfall.
none of us had been going there. we didn't know anything. at the gate, mas mas guide asked us whether to order full package ticket or not, it was 35k/pax. not expensive, so we decided to take it. even if full package included : life vest, river railing, body rafting, the cave, and that mas mas.
me, who was prepared for just cycling, brought only about 8k, just laughed. yet i had the principal, "it's okay not to have money brought, as long as you have friend" or in basa jawa "rapopo ra nduwe duit, penting nduwe kanca", melmel, sat next to me, offered to lend her money.
then, the adventure, started!
1. the cave
it was not so much interesting, just kind a stalaktit dan stalakmit. because it was so crowded that day, we just took photos at front, we didn't get inside the cave. then, mas guide told us to go back to the car, and continued the trip to the waterfall directly, with car.

2. prepare for the waterfall journey
arrived at the parking area, walked a bit, and we realized, we'd get wet. real wet. then we discussed a bit. "if it's that badly wet, we'll take the risk. yet, you wear trouser right?"
mas guide told us to take a life vest, put our bags in the locker *not really, it was just shelf.* and we (mb isti, mb nur, endah, and i) decided to take off our skirt, just wore the trouser, sivta and melmel wore jeans-trouser, so they didn't change. none of us brought a spare cloth, remember :v
3. ride on a traditional raft (?)
to get to the waterfall, we didn't walk. we use some kind of raft, but it was more like a flat boards, with railings, a motor, and a driver, floated because of the plastic drums below. about a minute, then we get to the main waterfall. so crowded !
we started the river rail

to the main waterfall, that blue thing in the corner, that is the railings of the raft |

4. river railing
mb nur a bit afraid of the railing, so she just got about 20% of the track. the other 5 of us continued.
it was so great !!! lovely. it was more than 3 years from my first river railing. well, this one felt more like waterfall railing than river railing. i was so happy to the extent that mas guide warned me "slowly!" or "careful" like, for a million times.

in the last railing track, there's a pool-like area under a waterfall, the water's cool, it was deep anyway |

5. body rafting
after reached the last railing track, we went back through the same track, to the main waterfall again started the body rafting. here, mas guide (who was holding sari's phone all the time) suggested us to let the raft driver brought her phone, it was safer, but we didn't have any documentation from the body rafting session. doesn't matter, it is safety saved in my memory, insyaAllah
body rafting, from the main waterfall, mas guide told us to pray before we jumped into the river-which-is-5-meters-depth (and i can't swim ! i can't ! ). and then, we jumped. hahaha. we floated of course, we wore life vest. we were brought by the stream-side back to the shelf and our belongings. just let yourself float. but it was frustrating for me, i can't swim, so i cant move my body here or there like the others ( i was bullied, because i bullied them too in the river railing session, i'm the fastest anyway). well because we need to avoid the incoming rafts, we had to move left right middle, and because i can't swim, i hang on to sivta, sari, endah one after another. i tried to remember all the techniques taught to me back in the schooldays, but i can't swim. ahahaha. well, we got back safely though. and wet. real wet. without spare clothes. wet.
we went home wet, after ate some bakso tusuk and dawet.
well, try for yourself then.
